2 allocation strategy

Recruitment and sourcing temporary employees will be allocated equally. To be noted is that

work allocation does impact on the cost effectiveness rule because when a need arises a

request is sent to all agencies to submit applications. Applicants who meet the requirements

are shortlisted. The shortlisted applicants are interviewed, and the highest scoring applicant is

appointed. As the focus is on obtaining the best candidate for the relevant position it is not

practical to make direct price comparisons between the recruiters submitting CVs for

consideration by JW, except where recruiters submit CVs for the same applicants. If such

applicants are appointed by JW, the successful recruiter will be the one with the lowest rates.

In such case cost effectiveness in the conventional sense is applied. However, in other cases

the CV of the successful applicant may only have been presented to JW by a single recruiter

which does not have the lowest rates. In such cases it is also arguable that the principle of

cost effectiveness will be applied as there is only one recruiter that could offer JW what it

required, namely the best applicant for the relevant position
