All parts must be protected against damage and corrosion during shipping, transport, and storage.

Delivery: Equipment must be supplied, delivered, and installed at Bayhead Wagons Depot. Testing: Functionality and load tests required; certificates must be issued. Commissioning: 1-month testing period; equipment acceptance is conditional on meeting all requirements. Contractor is fully responsible for any damage to Transnet assets during installation, testing, and commissioning. Warranty: 12 months. Contractor is responsible for any damages caused by their staff to Transnet’s buildings, electrical, civil engineering infrastructure, or property on site. Penalties will be levied for late deliveries due to the criticality of the equipment. Contractor must attend site meetings when convened by the Project Leader. Contractor must plan work to integrate with other on-site contractors.

Equipment must meet minimum technical specifications for loads, duty cycles, and environmental conditions (indoors/outdoors, sea level altitude, 0°C–45°C, 50–100% humidity, heavy saline atmosphere). Tenderers must indicate clause-by-clause compliance or deviations. Any omissions or sub-standard requirements must be reported to Transnet Engineering at tender stage, with optional prices for addressing them. Machinery must be complete, modern, and built to good engineering practices, using advanced proven technology supported by reputable local companies.

Functionality test to the satisfaction of stakeholders is required. Load tests must be conducted, and a certificate issued. Equipment must meet all specified technical and quality control requirements.
