Understanding the costs involved in PSIRA registration is vital for your business planning. Fees are split into Registration Fees (one-off) and Annual Fees (recurring).

1. New Registration Fees (One-off)

When you first apply, you pay for the processing of your application.

• Security Business Application: Approximately R6,800 - R7,500.
• Security Officer (Individual): Approximately R260 - R300 (depends on the grade and card issuance).
• Share/Interest Change: If you change directors, there is an administrative fee (~R660).

2. Annual Fees (Recurring)

Annual fees are tiered based on the size of your business (number of security officers employed).

• Category A (Over 5000 S/O): R50,000+
• Category B (501 - 5000 S/O): R35,000+
• Category C (101 - 500 S/O): R20,000+
• Category D (21 - 100 S/O): R10,000+
• Category E (0 - 20 S/O): R4,000 - R6,000

Note: Individual security officers also pay a small annual deduction, usually managed by the employer or paid directly if self-employed.

• ID Cards: printing fees for new or replacement cards.

PSIRA accepts:

• Direct Bank Deposit (NEDBANK is the common banker for PSIRA).
• EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer).
