Every government tender requires a standard set of compliance documents. Missing even one will lead to immediate disqualification.
1. Central Supplier Database (CSD)
Registration is mandatory for doing business with the state. You will need:
- Company registration documents
- Bank account details
- Tax reference number
- Directors' ID numbers
The system validates your Tax and Bank status automatically.
Your tax affairs must be in order. Government strictly verifies your status via the TCS PIN.
- Log into SARS eFiling
- Navigate to "Tax Compliance Status"
- Request a PIN
- Ensure no outstanding returns or debt
Your B-BBEE level determines your preference points (usually 10 or 20 points).
**Turnover < R10m (EME)**: You only need a *Sworn Affidavit*. Download the DTI template, fill it in, and get it stamped by a Commissioner of Oaths (police station/lawyer).
**Turnover > R10m (QSE/Large)**: You must get a certificate from a SANAS-accredited verification agency.

Always verify your documents are not expiring soon. Tenders are often disqualified for expired Tax Compliance or COIDA certificates.
