Specific industries have their own regulatory bodies. You cannot operate legally or bid without these registrations.
Construction: CIDB Grading
The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) grades you based on financial capability and track record.
**Grade determines Tender Value:**
- Grade 1: Up to R200k (Easy, online)
- Grade 4: Up to R4m (Requires track record)
- Grade 7: Up to R40m
Must renew every 3 years.

Security: PSIRA
Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) registration is non-negotiable.
- Company must be registered
- ALL Directors must be registered
- Security officers must be graded (A-E)
- Annual fees must be paid up (Letter of Good Standing)

IT & Software: SITA Accreditation
State Information Technology Agency (SITA) often manages IT procurement.
- Register on the SITA Supplier Database
- For large contracts, you may need to be on a "Transversal Contract" panel (e.g., RFB 1183 for Cloud Services)

Cleaning / Services: Labour Compliance
Labor-intensive sectors require strict Department of Employment and Labour compliance.
- **COIDA**: Compensation Fund Letter of Good Standing
- **UIF**: Compliance certificate
- **Bargaining Council**: Registration certificate (for sectors like Cleaning/Security)
⏱️ Time: 2-6 weeks
Pro Tip
Always verify your documents are not expiring soon. Tenders are often disqualified for expired Tax Compliance or COIDA certificates.
