• Functionality: Minimum qualifying score is 80/100 points.
• Experience (60%): Score based on number of Purchase Orders (POs) for major steel structural work in past 2 years, each valued at least R450k.
• 5 POs = 100 points, 4 POs = 80 points, 3 POs = 60 points, 2 POs = 40 points, 1 PO = 20 points, 0 POs = 0 points.
• Coded Welders (40%): Score based on number of coded welder performance qualification certificates provided.
• 5 certificates = 100 points, 4 = 80 points, 3 = 60 points, 2 = 40 points, 1 = 20 points, 0 = 0 points.
• Price (80 points).
• Preference (20 points): Awarded for B-BBEE Level 1 or 2 (10 points) and Promotion of EMEs/QSEs with ≥51% black ownership (10 points).

Scope: Once-off hopper chutes and counterweight repairs for Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) at Port of Richards Bay – Port Rail Terminal (PRT) CHROME SHUTDOWN. Contract type: NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract. Works Information and Site Information detailed in Part C3 and C4 of tender documents. Site access requires PPE and breathalyser testing; firearms prohibited.

Pricing format: Activity Schedule (C2.2) with Pricing Instructions (C2.1). Tender validity: 12 weeks from closing date (extendable). Payment terms and bonds/guarantees: Refer to C1.3 (Form of Securities) and T2.2-16 (Insurance provided by the Contractor). No reimbursement for bid preparation costs.

Mandatory: Valid Tax Clearance Certificate (SARS) + TCS PIN; Valid B-BBEE Certificate (SANAS-accredited) or sworn affidavit (EMEs/QSEs with ≥51% black ownership); Valid CIDB certificate (3SL or higher for construction work); Proof of CSD registration; Letters of Good Standing (for JVs). Joint Ventures: All members must be CIDB-registered; lead partner must have grading ≥1 level below required (3SL); combined grading must meet tender requirements. Exclusions: Tenderers on Register of Tender Defaulters or convicted of serious breaches (past 5 years) are disqualified.
