• A site visit/walk will take place. Attendees must wear safety shoes, goggles, long-sleeve shirts, high-visibility vests, and hard hats. Without PPE, you will not be allowed on site.
• All persons entering Transnet premises must undergo breathalyser testing. Firearms are prohibited.
• Bring identity documents, passports, or driver's licences for inspection at access control gates.
• Your tender must be in English.

• The tender validity period is 12 weeks from the closing date. You may be asked to extend it.

Four-stage eligibility: 1) Attendance at compulsory clarification meeting (authorized representative must attend), 2) CIDB registration with grading designation 3EP or higher (joint ventures must have all members registered with lead partner at least one level below required class), 3) Technical pre-qualification: registration with Electrical Contractors Board (ECB) or Department of Labour with valid Electrical Contractor's Certificate, 4) Functionality scoring: minimum 80 points based on experience (60%) and lead time (40%). Additional requirements: valid tax clearance certificate, B-BBEE certificate/SANAS verification, proof of Central Supplier Database registration, letters of good standing for JVs.

• Scope of Work: Supply and installation of gallery lights, electrical works, and conveyor electrical works for the Port of Richards Bay – Port Rail Terminal (PRT) Chrome Shutdown.
• This is a once-off project.
• The works are described in the Works Information (Part C3) and Site Information (Part C4) of the tender documents.
• The contract will be based on the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract.

• Central Supplier Database (CSD): You must be registered on the CSD (https://secure.csd.gov.za) and provide proof of registration.
• Tax Compliance: Submit a valid Tax Clearance Certificate from SARS and provide a TCS PIN for verification.
• B-BBEE: Submit a valid B-BBEE Certificate from a SANAS-accredited verification agency, or a sworn affidavit for EMEs and QSEs with 51% or more black ownership confirming annual turnover and black ownership level.
• CIDB: Submit a valid CIDB certificate in the correct designated grading (3EP or higher). Joint Ventures must provide a certified copy of the signed joint venture agreement.
• Electrical Contractor Registration: Provide a valid Electrical Contractor's Certificate from the Electrical Contractors Board (ECB) or Department of Labour.
• Letter of Good Standing: Provide a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Commissioner, or separate letters from all members of a newly constituted Joint Venture.
• Other Declarations: You must complete and submit the Compulsory Enterprise Questionnaire (CIDB SFU ANNEX G), declare any serious breach of law in the past 5 years, and confirm no listing on the Register of Tender Defaulters.
