• Submit the quotation by email to [email protected] (SCM Department) no later than 11 February 2026 at 18:00. Late submissions will be rejected.
• Include the following mandatory returnable documents:
• Completed SBD 4 – Bidder Disclosure (mandatory)
• Completed SBD 6.1 – Preference Points Claim (optional for B‑BBEE points; attach B‑BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit if claiming specific goals)
• CSD Summary Report (proof of registration on the Central Supplier Database)
• B‑BBEE Certificate (SANAS‑accredited) or affidavit if claiming points
• Price schedule with unit price (VAT inclusive) and total price
• Declaration that price is firm for at least 60 days from the closing date
• Indication of a firm delivery period
• All prices must be inclusive of VAT and valid for a minimum of sixty (60) days.
• If the quotation value is R2 000.00 or more, the 80/20 preferential procurement system applies.
• For any advance payment request, a payment guarantee approved by iThemba Labs Finance must be submitted.
• Payment terms are 30 days from date of invoice (or mutually agreed 7/14 days from delivery).

• Evaluation will be performed by Supply Chain Management on four pillars: administrative compliance, functionality, price, and B‑BBEE status.
• Preference point system: 80 points for price and 20 points for B‑BBEE (80/20 system).
• The bidder with the highest total points (price + B‑BBEE) will be awarded, subject to meeting the minimum thresholds.
• If all bids exceed R1 000 000.00 the RFQ will be automatically cancelled.
• Administrative compliance includes submission of all mandatory returnable documents (SBD 4, CSD report, B‑BBEE certificate, etc.).

Supply and delivery of ruggedised Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS) alpha‑particle detectors (or equivalent) to iThemba Labs, Faure, Western Cape.

• Example model referenced: CAM50 PIPS detector (50 mm²) with axial microdot connector, dimensions 16.7 × 12.3 × 7.1 mm.
• Detectors must be fully calibrated, VAT‑inclusive, and meet any applicable SANAS standards (as implied by B‑BBEE certification requirement).
• Deliver to the address specified above within the firm lead time indicated in the quotation.
• Provide all relevant data sheets, test certificates and warranty information with the delivery.

• Prices must be quoted inclusive of VAT and valid for at least 60 days from the closing date.
• Payment guarantee required for any advance payment request.
• Standard payment terms: 30 days from date of invoice receipt (or mutually agreed 7/14 days from delivery).
• No bonds or performance guarantees are explicitly required beyond the payment guarantee for advances.
• Currency: ZAR.

• Mandatory registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) – provide CSD Summary Report.
• Submit completed SBD 4 (Bidder Disclosure) and, where applicable, SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim).
• Provide a valid B‑BBEE certificate (SANAS‑accredited) or sworn affidavit if claiming specific goals.
• Compliance with the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA) and the Preferential Procurement Regulations 2022.
• Adherence to the General Conditions of Contract (GCC) for Schedule 3A public entities.
• All bidders must not be listed on the Register for Tender Defaulters or the List of Restricted Suppliers.
