Manufacture a reusable, operational packaging system to accommodate and protect one fully assembled missile during transportation, handling, and storage. The container must be compatible with different missile types (operational, training/acquisition, practice inert).

Material and finishing requirements: main structure from fibreglass composite (3 layers of 450 g/m² Chop Strand Material, ISO laminating resin, glass-to-resin ratio 1:2.5 by mass). Outside finish: Vinyl Ester Resin (VER) gel coat, 0.75 mm thick, Matt Service Brown (BS 381C). Compliance with standards: MIL-STD-810F (Environmental Engineering), MIL-STD-1472D (Human Engineering), DEF STAN 00-35/Part 4 (Environmental Handbook), SANS 10229 (Packing of Dangerous Goods). Additional project documentation provided upon signing NDA and completing supplier audits by Denel and Armscor.

Suppliers must demonstrate relevant knowledge and previous experience in manufacturing reusable, operational packaging systems for missile protection. Required submissions: company profile or website, tax clearance, B-BBEE certificate or affidavit, and CSD registration with verified banking details.

Suppliers must notify Denel Dynamics in writing of any discrepancies, ambiguities, errors, or inconsistencies in the RFP or provided information. Denel Dynamics will attempt to correct and share updates with all suppliers without attribution.

Pricing must be accurate and complete. Suppliers must notify Denel Dynamics of any pricing errors before the closing date and time. Corrections are permitted only if they do not materially alter the RFP response or affect the fairness of the process.

Compulsory documents: B-BBEE Affidavit or valid certificate, SARS tax clearance (tax reference number and valid Good Standing PIN), Central Supplier Database (CSD) summary report with verified banking details, supplier website or company profile detailing core business, supplier sales conditions, and references from at least 3 companies (preferably recent). Additional requirements: valid National Conventional Arms Control (NCAC) permit, completion of Supplier Declaration (Annexure D), and compliance with Denel SCM governance documents. Failure to submit any compulsory document may result in disqualification.

Container must comply with environmental and safety standards: MIL-STD-810F (Environmental Engineering and Laboratory Tests), MIL-STD-1472D (Human Engineering Design Criteria), DEF STAN 00-35/Part 4 (Environmental Handbook for Defence Material), and SANS 10229 (Packing of Dangerous Goods for Land and Rail Transport in South Africa).

All RFP information is confidential and must not be disclosed except for developing responses. Unauthorised communications with Denel Dynamics staff during the RFP process are prohibited. Suppliers retain intellectual property rights but grant Denel Dynamics a license to reproduce RFP information for evaluation purposes. RFP information must remain open for acceptance for at least 30 days post-closing. Denel Dynamics reserves the right to seek clarifications or enter discussions with suppliers.

Evaluation includes technical compliance with material specifications, adherence to military and environmental standards, and quality assurance checks. Inspection checklist covers container box, lid, seal, logbook holder, desiccant holder, handles, latches, marking, humidity indicator, and inserts. Late or incomplete submissions will not be evaluated.
