Can a joint venture combine CIDB grades?

Yes. Under CIDB rules a JV can combine partner capability to qualify for a higher grade in specific combinations (for example two partners of the same grade). The finder simulates the combined grade for each candidate.

How does a JV affect my B-BBEE level?

An unincorporated JV is measured as a single entity using a consolidated B-BBEE scorecard. Partnering with a strong black-owned EME or QSE can lift your consolidated contributor level, which the finder calculates per candidate.

Can a tender require subcontracting to designated groups?

A tender may include specific subcontracting or participation conditions. Read the current tender data and contract conditions carefully; forming a JV is not automatically the same as meeting a subcontracting requirement.
