This is an RFI (Request for Information) for market testing and strategy development. Responses will be evaluated based on: supplier capability and relevant project experience; proposed technical approach for automating each of the 8 transformer oil tests; indicative high-level system architecture (robotics and analytical instruments); estimated project timeline from design to commissioning; and indicative cost ranges (CAPEX and OPEX). Preference may be given to suppliers with B-BBEE compliance or localization credentials (e.g., Black Youth/Women Owned Enterprise). Existing Eskom vendor registration details may also be considered.

Automate 8 key transformer oil tests with integrated robotics and LIMS. Required instrumentation and integration approach for each test: 1) Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) – automated gas chromatography system with headspace sampler, flame ionization detector (FID), and thermal conductivity detector (TCD). 2) Moisture (Water Content) – automated Karl Fischer titrator with oven or vaporizer module. 3) Acidity (Neutralization Number) – automated potentiometric titration system with robotic sample handling and solvent dispensing. 4) Dielectric Strength (Breakdown Voltage) – automated tester with electrode system, stirring mechanism, and voltage ramp control. 5) Colour – automated colorimeter or spectrophotometer with flow-through cell and calibration standards. 6) Interfacial Tension (IFT) – automated tensiometer with pendant drop or du Noüy ring method and temperature control. 7) Sludge Content – automated centrifuge system with solvent handling and residue quantification. 8) Tan Delta (Dielectric Dissipation Factor) – automated precision capacitance and dissipation factor test system with temperature-controlled test cell. Suppliers must describe proposed instrumentation, robotic sample preparation/movement, and seamless LIMS integration for each test.

Indicative cost ranges (CAPEX and OPEX) must be provided for budgetary planning. No bonds, guarantees, or payment terms are specified in this RFI.
