• Auditorium/Reception: Fire extinguisher and fire hose present.
• Cape Vidal Chalets (28 log cabins):
• Chalets 1-28: Mixed availability of fire extinguishers and fire hoses (see detailed list).
• 51 campsites: 3 fire hoses servicing all; 1 fire hose around reception.
• Ablution blocks 1-5: Fire extinguishers present; fire hoses vary.
• Mkhuze Game Reserve:
• Rest Huts 1-6: 1 fire hose shared; fire extinguishers vary.
• Chalets 7-17, Cottages 16-17: Fire extinguishers and fire hoses present (shared in some cases).

iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority seeks a qualified service provider for the maintenance and supply of fire equipment and systems across its tourism facilities (Cape Vidal, Sugar Loaf, uMkhuze, Sodwana Bay, Kosi Bay, Maphelane). The Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, spans 332,000 hectares and includes diverse ecosystems. Experience in fire prevention systems (pumps, extinguishers, sprinklers) earns points: <2 years (0), 2-4 years (10), >4 years (15). OHS Training (Health and Safety Officer Certificate and CV) is required (30 points). Company experience must be proven via reference letters, purchase orders, or appointment letters (10 points each, max 30). Minimum 75% score required to advance. Bidders must list similar projects completed in the last 5 years with award/completion certificates.

Quality standards: Services must meet high workmanship standards. iSimangaliso may test quality; non-compliance can lead to contract termination. Supplier responsibilities: Provide all necessary skills, resources, tools, equipment, and experts; review site constraints and environmental factors; understand operational requirements; deliver on time, on budget, and to quality; submit condition reports and documentation. Contract terms: iSimangaliso reserves the right to negotiate terms (including price), reject any quotation, correct mistakes, cancel/terminate the RFQ at any stage, or accept partial terms. No upfront payments; invoices paid within 30 days of Finance receipt. Professional fees must align with National Treasury/DPSA guidelines. Travel costs must comply with SARS rates or iSimangaliso policy. Suppliers bear all costs for bid preparation. Submission implies acceptance of all terms. Contract form SBD7 must be signed by the successful bidder. No verbal agreements are binding.

The 80/20 preference point system applies (80 points for price, 20 for specific goals). Price scoring uses the formula Ps = 80(1 - (Pt - Pmin)/Pmin). Specific goals include locally registered address, 51% Black/Woman/Youth ownership, and 51% ownership by people with disabilities (4 points each). Resource qualifications for the Site Supervisor: NQF Level 3/4 Mechanical Fitter/Millwright with Trade Test and SAQCC Fire registration (20 points), fire system maintenance experience (20 points), OHS Training (30 points), and company references (30 points).
