Material must conform to THR14, COLTO, and SANS 1083 standards. Grading requirements: Sieve Size (mm) - Percentage Passing: 26.0: 100%, 19.0: 85-100%, 13.0: 0-50%, 9.5: 0-25%, 4.75: 0-5%. Additional specifications: Soundness (max 5% loss in mass after 5 sodium sulphate cycles), Shrinkage (max 150% of reference aggregate), Water Absorption (max 2.0%), Chloride (max 0.03%), Sulphates (max 0.4%), Abrasion Resistance (max 30%), Flakiness Index (max 24). Material must be free from contamination (rubble, vegetation, spillage, steel). Bidders must select and approve their quarry/crusher; Department may inspect quarry for capacity and plant condition. Bidders must possess an approved Environmental Management Programme Report (EMPR) for quarry/sand extraction. Stockpiles must prevent contamination and segregation. Delivery hours: 06h30 to 15h15, Monday to Thursday (excludes Fridays 14h00 to Mondays 06h30, public holidays, last Thursday/Friday of the month). Delivery must commence within 14 days of receiving DWS order. Defective/damaged goods will be rejected and must be replaced at supplierβs expense within 48 hours. Technical support response: representative on-site within 24 hours; solution or replacement within 48 hours. Estimated quantity: 1,150 mΒ³ (non-guaranteed).
