• Bids must be delivered to the PRISA bid box No.04 at 65 Masabalala Yengwa Avenue, Greyville, 4001, Durban Station before 12:00 on 28 January 2026.
• Submissions must be in sealed envelopes and use the official forms supplied – no re‑typing.
• All required returnable documents (see “Returnable Documents” section) must be included; incomplete submissions will be rejected.
• Late bids will not be considered.
• Bids must be addressed to PRASA and signed by an authorised representative (company resolution required).
• No canvassing of PRASA staff between closing date and award; breach may lead to disqualification.
• Complaints must be sent to [email protected] with required bidder details.

Scope: Supply, delivery and installation of 11kV, 70mm² aerial bundle cable and associated accessories (lightning arrestors, termination kits, suspension brackets) across multiple sites (Rossburg‑Umlazi corridor, tunnels, bridges, etc.).

Deliverables include:

• Cable installation per item list (BOQ sections 15.1‑15.8).
• Installation of antivandal 12kV lightning arrestors.
• Provision of termination kits and stainless‑steel suspension brackets.
• Testing and commissioning of all sites.
• Removal of existing 6.6kV aerial bundle.

Standards & service levels: Compliance with Occupational Safety Act 2003, Electrical Safety Instruction for High Voltage Equipment, PRASA General Conditions of Purchase, and Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act 2000.

Site requirements: Obtain site access certificate from PRASA; contractor to provide own security, safety clothing, transport; submit safety file for approval before work starts.

• Tax compliance: submit SARS TCS PIN or printed TCS certificate; if unavailable, provide CSD number. Each consortium/joint‑venture party must submit separate tax compliance documents.
• B‑BBEE: Minimum level 10%.
• Required certificates: Qualified Electrician (Trade Test) or Electrical Engineer, Working from Height certificate, Valid Category C Green certificate.
• Legal compliance: full compliance with all applicable national and local laws.
• Exclusions: Bids from persons in the service of the State or companies with directors who are state officials are disallowed.
