Scope: Biannual maintenance and repair of hoist and lifting equipment at ATNS Cape Town International Airport (FACT) for five years.

Key tasks during biannual service:

• Inspect equipment for condition, wear, damage, and safe operation.
• Conduct load testing per lifting machinery regulations.
• Inspect wire ropes, chains, hooks, shackles, and lifting attachments for wear, deformation, corrosion, and defects.
• Check brakes, limit switches, controls, safety devices, and emergency stop functions.
• Inspect gearboxes, motors, bearings, and moving components for abnormal wear and lubrication needs.
• Lubricate moving parts per manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect electrical components, pendant controls, and cabling.
• Verify structural integrity of mounting points, beams, and supporting structures.
• Provide service reports, load test certificates, and repair recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and lifting machinery regulations.

Additional requirements:

• Spare parts and replacements must be quoted separately and approved by ATNS before procurement; must be OEM-approved or equivalent.
• Provide basic equipment training to ATNS staff as required.
• Perform ad hoc maintenance, repairs, and inspections upon written approval.
• Submit detailed service reports and compliance documentation after each activity.
• Maintain a consistent, qualified team and provide all necessary materials, tools, and transport.
• Deliveries within 7 working days after purchase order, except emergencies.

• Maintenance and repair must be performed with high professionalism and competency.
• All work must comply with relevant standards, OHS Act regulations, and other legislation.
• Personnel must possess necessary skills, experience, and qualifications.
• ATNS reserves the right to inspect personnel performance, qualifications, conduct, tools, and equipment, and request replacements if unsatisfactory.
• Contractor must provide suitably qualified personnel for biannual maintenance and repairs as requested.
• Quoted labour rates must include all applicable costs.
• Supplier must create and submit an OHS Safety File where required.
• A risk-based five-year rolling maintenance plan is required.
• Service includes inspection, servicing, load testing, repair, and maintenance of fixed/mobile hoists, lifting points, and accessories.
• Three hoist and lifting equipment units at FACT must be serviced (see equipment schedule).

• Submit pricing in ZAR, VAT inclusive, using SBD 3.3 format.
• Labour rates must include all associated costs.
