• Technical requirements:

• Kiln Capacity: 320 dm³ (320L) biomass input per cycle.
• Output: Approximately 214 dm³ biochar per cycle (based on gum wood).
• Cycle Duration: 7–12 hours active burn; 24-hour recommended full cycle.
• Process Type: Batch pyrolysis.
• Condenser: Integrated water condenser for wood vinegar and tar recovery.
• Wood Vinegar Output: 20–25 litres per cycle (93–94% purity), with 6–7% Stockholm tar.
• Fixed Carbon Content: 85–95% (depending on biomass type).
• Calorific Value: Approximately 35 CV (gum wood reference).
• Operation: Biomass-fed; includes in-chamber cooling option.
• Construction: Heavy-duty steel, heat-resistant.

• Mandatory registration: Bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and include their CSD registration number and full CSD report with the bid.
• Tax Compliance: Valid Tax Clearance Certificate (Tax PIN) required.
• B-BBEE Compliance: Valid B-BBEE Certificate required. Bidders must claim specific goals to qualify for the 20-point preference system.
• Documentation: Fully signed Standard Bidding Documents (SBD forms) must accompany the quotation.
• Additional Compliance: General Conditions of Contract issued by National Treasury and ARC Supply Chain Management Code of Conduct apply.

Bidders must claim specific goals to qualify for the 20-point preference system under the 80/20 PPPFA framework. Points are awarded for ownership by HDIs, Women, Youth, PwD, B-BBEE Level 1–4, and RDP Goals (SMME promotion). Proof/documentation is required to substantiate claims.

• Warranty: Minimum 12 months manufacturer’s warranty required. Warranty terms must be clearly stated in the quotation.
• Delivery: Must be to ARC-NRE in Arcadia, Pretoria, within 6 weeks of receiving the Purchase Order (PO).
• Validity: Quotation validity period must be indicated.
• Pricing: Quoted in ZAR, inclusive of VAT, delivery, insurance, and taxes. No adjustments allowed post-submission.
• Responsibility: Supplier accepts full responsibility for proper execution and fulfilment of the goods/services.

• Disqualification Risks: Failure to submit signed SBD forms, datasheet, or reference letters may result in disqualification. Fraudulent claims for specific goals may lead to disqualification, contract cancellation, or legal action.
