• Scope: Caillard 08 long travel panel replacement and installation of cable tray as a once-off project at Transnet Port Terminal Richards Bay.
• Key deliverables:

• Safely strip out existing electrical panel, cables, and cable trays.
• Supply and install new stainless steel long travel motors panel box and stainless-steel mounting brackets.
• Record all current labels and safely disconnect obsolete wiring and components.
• Supply and installation of cable trays with bracket mounting.
• Replace electrical cables from the panel to the long travel electrical motors and brakes.

• Method Statement (T2.2-03) required, detailing project-specific approach, methodology, and addressing safety, quality, and environmental impact.

• Scope: Supply, installation, and commissioning of a new cable management system and replacement of the existing electrical panel box for the Caillard 08 ship-unloader at Import section, 702 berth, Richards Bay.
• Detailed tasks:

• Safely strip out existing electrical panel, cables, and cable trays.
• Supply and install new stainless steel long travel motors panel box (100x80x30mm, IP66) with DIN-rail mounting and cable trunking.
• Supply and install stainless steel mounting brackets (IP166 rated).
• Supply and install specific electrical components as listed (e.g., LED light, temperature sensor, fan, circuit breakers, relays, terminal blocks, cables).
• Supply and install hot-dip galvanized steel ladder cable trays (specific sizes and lengths totalling 164 meters) mounted on stainless steel brackets.
• All wiring and cable trays must be correctly labelled and earthed.

• Testing and commissioning:

• Site conditions at Richards Bay Bulk Terminal include:

• Groundwater table between 0.8m and 1.5m below ground level in winter.
• Altitude at sea level.
• Ambient temperature range: 5 to 45°C.
• Relative humidity frequently 100%.
• Air pollution: heavily saline and dust-laden; industrial and locomotive fumes; ignitable dusts.
• General wind velocities up to 60km/h; storm winds up to 180 km/h.

• Guarantees: Provide a comprehensive guarantee covering defects in materials for all installed electrical components for a minimum of 12 months from work completion.
• Warranties: Provide a comprehensive warranty for workmanship for a minimum of 12 months from work completion.
• Contract Objective: To strip, replace the existing long travel motors panel and cable trays, ensuring compliance with national standards and safety regulations as a once-off service.

• The service provider must review and understand the operational requirements of the facilities in the Port of Richards Bay.
• The service provider is responsible for any other reasonable works required to deliver the services on time, on budget, and at accepted quality.
• Access Restrictions: The service provider is excluded from entering TPT's Operational Areas adjacent to the Affected Property. Work must be planned to cause the least possible disruption.
• Site Conduct: The service provider must ensure safe passage for their team and traffic, provide flagmen, and keep staff within allocated, fenced working areas. All staff must comply with TPT operational safety requirements and wear necessary PPE.
• Standards Compliance: Works and supplied materials tested to alternative standards may be considered at the Engineering Manager's discretion, provided they are not less stringent and can pass all tests in the called-for standards.
