• Purpose: To appoint a contractor for supply, delivery, and installation of heavy-duty extractor fans and accessories at Bridge City traction substation, Parcels, Concourse 1, and Concourse 2 distribution substations in KZN over 6 months.
• Contractor responsibilities: Provide all machinery, equipment, and security; rectify defects within 7 days; submit safety file and obtain work permits.
• Technical specs: Fans must be 550W, 3-phase 400V, 900–1000mm diameter, automated with sensor (20–45°C), replaceable filter, dual airflow, 1500 RPM, with individual overload protection.
• Warranty: Minimum 12 months from commissioning.
• Penalties: Include daily delay charges, fines for unauthorized site access, train delays, and cancellations.
• Site clearing: Remove all rubble after work.

Scope: Supply, delivery, and installation of heavy-duty extractor fans and associated accessories at Bridge City traction substation, Parcels, Concourse 1, and Concourse 2 distribution substations in KZN.

Key requirements:

• Fans must be heavy-duty extractor fans with specifications: 550 Watts, 3 Phase 400V, diameter 900mm–1000mm, automated with room temperature adjustable sensor (20–45°C), replaceable air filter, dual direction airflow, 1500 RPM (4 pole), and individual overload protection.
• Contractor responsible for all machinery, equipment, and rectification of defects within 7 days of notification.
• Submit safety file and obtain electrical work permit before on-site work commences.
• Provide own security and PPE for site work.
• Warranty and guarantee period: minimum 12 months from commissioning; submit warranty documents.
• Project duration: maximum 6 months from award; payment upon completion and certification by PRASA project manager.
• Penalties include 0.3% of contract price per day delay (max 10%), R10,000 for unauthorized site access, R80 per minute per train delayed, and R1,500 per cancelled train.
• Clear site of all rubble after work.

• Prices must be quoted in South African Rand, inclusive of all taxes, on a fixed-price basis.
