The purpose of this submission is to obtain approval to procure a Service Provider for Supply and deliver of electrical and plumbing materials in the Western Cape Region for Once off. 2. BACKGROUND INFORMATION a. STATUS QUO Prasa has suffered widespread damage to its infrastructure, which escalated during the COVID lockdown period. Prasa relies on contractors to carry out the electrical and plumbing works. This is because the region does not have stock materials in our stores. Secondly, we cannot account on the productivity of the staff since there are no materials. All works assigned to external contractors. b. PROBLEM STATEMENT PRASA is experiencing high incidences of theft and vandalism at various areas, and these incidents have a devastating effect on the service that PRASA provides to the commuters. The lights that are not working in various facilities/stations contribute to the high rate of theft and vandalism. 3. TARGETED AREA BY THIS PROJECT This project will target various stations, facilities, and depots within WCR region. 8.
