Jikijela Communication and Advertising has built a compact but focused public-sector footprint since August 2023, recording six awards totalling just under ZAR 20,000. The Eastern Cape Officer of the Premier dominates the portfolio with four of those awards, supplemented by single engagements from Sport Recreation Arts and Culture and Elundini Local Municipality. The work splits evenly between general services and advertising/market research, with five of six awards concentrated in the Eastern Cape and one at national level. Activity has been steady, with two awards recorded in each of 2025 and 2026, suggesting a recurring relationship rather than one-off wins.
The tender evidence points to a deliberate strategy of pursuing panel-based marketing and communication contracts, exemplified by SCMU14-26/27-0006, a three-year panel appointment covering advertising, media buying, public relations and creative services. That document shows heavy emphasis on compliance returnables and technical scope, including SBD6.1 preferential procurement claims for women, youth and Eastern Cape enterprises, plus strict CSD alignment. Bidders may target one or multiple categories, meaning Jikijela can compete selectively. The low recorded award values suggest these are early-stage or as-and-when contracts, so positioning for larger panel slots will require demonstrating delivery capacity and audit-readiness rather than price competitiveness alone.
