Contractor must be a legally registered entity in South Africa. Must demonstrate competence in concrete repair, specifically with ABE product range (or approved equivalents). Must comply with airport security and safety protocols, including obtaining airport permits. Financial compliance: annual submission of valid B-BBEE and Tax Clearance Certificates. Must have or obtain required insurance covers (Public Liability, Aviation Liability, COID). Key personnel CVs must be submitted as part of the tender. Failure to meet these criteria may result in disqualification.

Scope: Repair broken and cracked concrete edges on the main apron blocks at King Phalo Airport for a period not exceeding six months. Key deliverables: Saw cut and remove cracked/broken concrete from blocks, clean out dust in parking bays. Apply ABE Epidermix 344 base and activator (or similar approved) to repaired areas. Apply ABE Durarep FMC (or similar approved) and ABE Duracure Acrylic (or similar approved) to repaired areas. Seal joints in parking bays with Dowsil 890-SL Silicone Joint Sealant (grey) or similar approved. Replace uneven gutter blocks (bays 1-7, 200 blocks). Replace damaged concrete MH covers (50 units). Repair collapsing surface around the drain near carousels at the Apron side. Repaint previously painted areas using Plascon Industrial Coating Paint TP 28 Black or TP 94 Yellow (or similar approved). Provide documented proof of competence for ABE products and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all products used on site. Submit a fully detailed Safety File before commencing work. Provide all employees with complete PPE. Work must comply with OHS Act and Construction Regulations. Baseline risk assessment required before commencement. All staff must be competent, trained, and medically fit. Supervisor must be literate in English, competent in OHS Act regulations, and have first aid skills.

Pricing must follow the Activity Schedule (Part C2) with VAT-exclusive lump sum prices for each activity. Rates must include labour, equipment, spares, general risks, liabilities, obligations, profit, expenses, bonuses, allowances (shift/standby), sick leave, other leave, consumables, and all other obligations. Payment is made only upon completion of each activity. Contract values will adjust annually according to South Africa’s CPI (use 6% for comparison). Travelling time charges are not paid separately and must be included in rates. Labour rates must include personnel insurance, holidays with pay, and incentive bonuses. No additional claims for labour travel time. Provisional sums and contingency amounts are expended as directed by the Employer. Contractor must submit a quote for the Safety File. Airport permits and parking fees (AIT & Security awareness training) cost R5,000.00 (once-off, claim on proven cost). Insurance: Aviation liability cover of at least R300,000 required. Proof of insurance must be submitted to ACSA before work starts and annually thereafter. Payment terms: 30 days from assessment date (15th of each month). Interest rate: Nedbank prime lending rate.

Contractor must annually present a compliant B-BBEE Certificate and Tax Clearance Certificate. Failure to comply may result in contract cancellation. Contractor must comply with OHS Act and Construction Regulations, including Section 37(2) agreement. COIDA compliance required: submit a letter confirming good standing with the Compensation Fund or Licensed Insurer before commencing work. Public Liability Insurance and other adequate cover required. Contractor must ensure all employees and subcontractors comply with OHS Act, including baseline risk assessments, safe work procedures, PPE, and incident reporting. Contractor must not use Client’s machinery/equipment without prior written approval. No alcohol or intoxicating substances allowed on premises. Contractor must appoint a Construction Manager (per Construction Regulation 8) and submit documentation 7 days before work commences. Contractor must be registered as an employer and ensure all staff are medically fit, trained, and competent. Non-compliance may lead to immediate contract cancellation. Contractor must cede no rights or obligations without Employer’s written consent. Joint ventures/consortia are jointly and severally liable. Contractor must notify Employer of key personnel changes. Contractor must not endanger health/safety of Client’s employees or others. Contractor must report unsafe/unhealthy conditions to Client in writing. Contractor must submit a written OHS undertaking signed by a duly authorised 16.2 appointee.
