Scope: Construction of rural water supply infrastructure for Grootpan, Sias, Ga-Ramaswikana, Longden, and Ga-Mmamoleka in Blouberg Local Municipality (North Cluster Phase 3).

Key deliverables:

• Bulk water pipeline network using uPVC and steel pipes (sizes: 75mm, 90mm, 110mm, 160mm Ø).
• Pre-cast reinforced concrete inlet and outlet chambers, compliant with SANS 1123.
• Steel water storage tanks (capacities: 300KL, 2000KL) with reinforced concrete ring beams.
• Elevated steel tanks, concrete reservoirs, and borehole connections.
• Valve chambers, sluice valves, strainers, water meters, altitude level controls, and non-return valves (all MS epoxy-coated, flanged to SANS 1123 - 2500/3).
• Name boards/signage with matt-black DIN B letters/numbers on semi-matt smoke-grey background, green non-reflectorized borders.

Standards and notes:

• All pipe lengths and sizes must be confirmed on-site before installation.
• No T-piece connections are permitted at future emergency connection points.
• Excavation near electrical pylons requires caution due to underground earth straps and cables.
• Ensure property access is maintained where driveways are affected by construction.
• Concrete encasement details must refer to the provided civil drawings.
• The surveyor has attempted to locate all affected services above and below ground, but the contractor must verify and take all necessary precautions.

Safety precautions:

• Beware of underground earth straps and cables between electrical pylons during excavation.
• Ensure access to properties where driveways are affected by construction.
• Take necessary precautions when excavating near existing services (above and below ground).
• The surveyor has attempted to locate all affected services, but the contractor must verify and confirm on-site.
• Use 12mm round iron pegs on the centerline of the pipeline for alignment.
• Horizontal bends must be marked with square pegs.

Signage requirements:

• Two signboards must be erected at positions determined by the Section Engineer.
• Signage must display: project name, contract number, description of work (e.g., kilometers and type of work), and contractor details.

• Borders: Green, non-reflectorized.
• Emblems: Full color on semi-matt background.

Post and footing specifications:

• Timber posts: 100mm or 180mm diameter, with stays (80mm diameter) and embedding depths of 600mm to 1450mm.
• Steel posts: 100mm x 4mm, lengths of 1000mm to 1450mm.
• Erection brackets: 300x32x32x2mm or 25x25x5mm square tubing.
• Break-away holes for U-bolts: 12mm diameter, 300mm long, where required.
• Soilcrete foundation: 30x30x5mm or as specified by the engineer.

Scope: Construction of rural water supply infrastructure for Grootpan, Sias, Longden Ga-Ramaswikana & Ga-MmamoLeka (North Cluster Reservoir) in Blouberg Local Municipality, Limpopo.

Key Deliverables:

• Site clearance and fencing: Access roads (6m wide), reservoir platform (78x81m), tree removal (1-3m girth), demolition of existing structures, topsoil removal (150mm depth), stockpiling, and grassing via hydroseeding.
• Platform works: Bulk earthworks (excavation, compaction to 90-95% modified AASHTO density), subbase/base layers (C4 material with 3% cement, G7/G6 material), segmented paving (25MPa interlock pavers), kerb edge restraints, and internal roads.
• Package Treatment Plant: Design, supply, assembly, and commissioning of a 2300 m³/day filtration system (activated filter media, powdered carbon, hypochlorite chlorination), including 8x40ft containerised units with insulation and air conditioning. Borehole equipping (3 boreholes), electrification (Eskom approvals), and telemetry for plant and boreholes.
• Reservoirs: 2000kL command reservoir (concrete structural works: formwork, reinforcement, concrete grades 15/19 to 35/19, watertightness testing, joints, finishes, DPC, insulation, drainage layers). Circular steel tanks: 2ML and 500kL storage tanks with ring beams, sand beds, access ladders, and overflow systems.
• Pipelines: uPVC (ND 32-200mm) and steel pipelines (32-200mm), including trench excavation (0-3m depth), bedding (granular/fill material), laying, jointing, testing, disinfection, and specials (elbows, tees, valves, thrust blocks). Erf connections (HDPE pipes, brass ball valves).
• Stormwater: Earthworks, gabions, pitching, erosion control blankets, earth channels (1.2m wide, 150mm layers compacted to 95% modified AASHTO density).
• Sewer reticulation: uPVC sewer pipes (110mm), manholes (1.0-2.0m diameter), bedding (granular/fill material).
• Septic tank and soak away: 5000L plastic septic tank, brick manhole (1000x1000x1000mm), soak away (Bidim bags, 25mm stone), sludge drying beds (100kL/day), sludge dams (900m² x 3m depth).
• Road works: Bulk earthworks, subbase (gravel compacted to 93-95% modified AASHTO density), wearing course.
• Structures: Executive office containers (14.64m²), accommodation units (2.4m x 12m), guard house (3m x 3m), steel frame carport (8 bays), floor slabs, concrete aprons.
• Safety: Occupational Health and Safety Act compliance (initial obligations, ongoing adherence).
