Evaluation is conducted in three phases:

• Phase 1 (Closing Stage): Mandatory requirements. Disqualification if any of the following are not met: fully completed quotation per price structure/scope, submission before deadline to [email protected], MBChB degree (or equivalent), valid HPCSA registration, specialised training in Occupational Medicine (DOM or equivalent), knowledge of OHSA/COIDA/LRA/EEA, 3 years of occupational health experience, ID copies of owners/directors, and 3 reference letters from previous clients.
• Phase 2 (Price and Specific Goals): Compliant bidders are scored on price (80 points) and specific goals (20 points) using the 80/20 Preferential Procurement Regulations, 2022. Specific goals include B-BBEE ownership: Black People (91-100%: 12 points, 75-90%: 10 points, 51-74%: 8 points, 50% or lower: 4 points, 0%: 0 points) and Women (91-100%: 8 points, 75-90%: 6 points, 51-74%: 4 points, 50% or lower: 2 points, 0%: 0 points).
• Phase 3 (Award Stage): Mandatory requirements. Disqualification if: not tax compliant, listed in the Register of Restricted Suppliers or Tender Defaulters Register, or not registered on the Central Supplier Database (unless foreign with no local entity).

NRWDI seeks an independent Occupational Medical Practitioner (OMP) based in Springbok or surrounding areas in the Northern Cape Province. The OMP must coordinate and manage Occupational Health Services to ensure a healthy workforce and provide cost-effective services aligned with NRWDI’s objectives. Services must comply with legislation governing Occupational Health (e.g., OHSA, COIDA, LRA, EEA).

Scope of Work:

• Assess fitness for work (full duty, light/restricted duties, temporary/permanent incapacity, return-to-work).
• Determine light duty restrictions (e.g., no heavy lifting, reduced hours, avoiding hazardous environments).
• Manage temporary incapacity (confirm medical incapacity, recovery periods, rehabilitation, monitor absenteeism).
• Support return-to-work processes.
• Advise HR and management on reasonable accommodation, ill-health retirement, occupational health risks, and compliance.
• Conduct incapacity assessments (degree of incapacity, permanence, alternative placement).
• Provide outcomes (fitness status, specialist referrals, reassessment periods, rehabilitation).
• Report to management with recommendations.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• MBChB degree or equivalent.
• Registration with the HPCSA.
• Specialised training in Occupational Medicine (DOM, postgraduate diploma, or Master’s degree).
• Knowledge of OHSA, COIDA, LRA, and EEA.
• Minimum 3 years of practical experience in workplace health assessments, incapacity management, occupational injuries, and medical surveillance.

Services are required for a 2-year period for staff at the Vaalputs Office in the Northern Cape Province. Payment is based on agreed hourly rates, used as needed.

• Grand total (including VAT).

• Submit a minimum of three reference letters from previous clients (on letterhead, with contact details).
• Complete SBD 4 and SBD 6.1 forms.
• Attach a valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit.
• Indicate if ISO 9001:2015 certified.

• Must be tax compliant.
• Must not be listed in the Register of Restricted Suppliers or Tender Defaulters Register.
• Must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (except for foreign bidders with no local entity).
