Supply and delivery of radiation protection products to ESKOM nuclear operating unit (5‑year as‑and‑when contract)

Returnable Documents:

• Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for each delivery
• Technical Datasheet
• Certificate of Analysis (COA)
• Certificate of Conformance (COC) where applicable
• All documents must be legible and submitted to KNPS records management system
• Ensure all required forms are completed and signed before submission
• Failure to provide complete documentation may result in disqualification

Scope:

• Supply and delivery of Radiation Protection Products to the Nuclear Operating Unit for 5 years on an “as and when” basis.

Key Requirements:

1. Functional Performance

• Products must meet performance standards for KNPS plant operations.
• Products with specification DSG-317-094 must be CRACK approved before delivery; alternatives may be considered.
• Any incompatibility with existing design specs must be reported to Eskom during tender.

2. Safety & Environment

• Safe packaging; no risk of environmental spillage.
• No hazardous vapour emissions.
• Manufacturer must operate an ISO 14001:2015 compliant EMS.

3. Quality & Cleanliness

• Meet KNPS quality standards.
• Supplied by reputable, qualified manufacturers.
• Notify Eskom of any significant changes affecting product integrity.

4. Storage, Handling & Expiry

• Transport must prevent damage and leaks.
• Follow manufacturer instructions and industry best practices.
• Provide SDS with manufacturing date, expiry date, and allowable deviation.
• Shelf‑life must be at least 1 year from delivery.

5. Documentation per delivery

• Safety Data Sheets
• Technical Datasheet
• Certificate of Analysis (COA)
• Certificate of Conformance (COC) where applicable.
• All documents must be legible and filed with KNPS.

6. Deviations

• Any deviation requires written approval from the Employer and must demonstrate equal or superior compliance.

Deliverables:

• Two product batches (Plastic spares and RP spares) as listed in Annexure A.
• Delivery to KNPS Site Stores using road‑worthy vehicles complying with National Road Traffic Act and Regulations.
• Qualified delivery personnel with valid driver’s licence, no intoxication, no criminal record, and required PPE (hard hat, safety boots, gloves, ear protection, safety glasses).
• Supplier to provide in‑house training for staff handling the products and site access training as required.
• Access to site must comply with KAA 777 process.
• Delivery times will be set per Purchase Order on an as‑and‑when basis.
