Scope: Replace all obsolete Air Circuit Breakers (ACBs) in the LV substation at Durban Station.

• Work includes decommissioning, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning new Electric Masterpact MTZ series ACBs (draw-out type).
• Replace transformer incomers (L1, L3, L5, L7, Tx1, Tx2) and bus couplers (L2, L4, L6, and concourse bus coupler).
• Install a complete mechanical key interlocking system.
• Objective: Restore safe, compliant, and reliable operation.
• Work hours: Only after 22:00 on Friday to Sunday nights to minimise disruption.
• ACBs must have a minimum current rating of 630Amps.
• No other makes accepted without written approval.

• Contractor must demonstrate experience in Masterpact replacement on LV substations.
• Provide reference letters for work done in the past two years; ACBs must have a minimum current rating of 630Amps.
• Submit CVs for:

• One Master Installation electrician registered with the Department of Labour, showing post-qualification experience (points awarded based on years of experience).
• Two Trade Tested electricians, showing post-qualification experience (points awarded based on years of experience).

• Financial capability: Submit audited Annual Financial Statements for the past two years (or since establishment if younger).

• Use the attached Pricing Schedule; deviation may render the bid non-responsive.
• Prices must be in South African Rand, inclusive of taxes, and firm.
• Provide a cost breakdown and price escalation basis/formula.
• Discounted prices are considered only in the final evaluation, unconditionally.

• Specific Goals: Points are allocated for Black Women Owned (5 points), Black Youth Owned (5 points), and Black People living in rural areas (5 points). Provide certified ID copies or proof of address.
• Professional Registrations: A minimum of one Master Installation electrician registered with the Department of Labour (Wireman’s Licence for 3 Phase) and two Electrical Trade Tested electricians.
