Submit an independent QA assessment report (not older than 12 months) with tender.
Quality specialist and staff must be assigned for critical components.
Employer’s Agent may appoint an independent QA representative (paid by Contractor).
Failed tests and inspections are Contractor’s responsibility.
Standards and Certifications:
Materials must comply with SABS or British Standards.
Valves: Test certificates required; must comply with SABS 664 (Gate Valves) or BS5155 (Butterfly Valves).
Pumps: Proven performance, standard design, suitable for duty, balanced to avoid end thrust.
Electrical: Compliance with SABS 1180 (switchgear), SANS 10142 (Wiring Code), and Supply Authority (Eskom) regulations.
Construction Standards:
Structural steelwork: Coating systems as per manufacturer’s instructions (e.g., epoxy, polyurethane).
