The business turnaround and recovery programme (bt&r) has its origin in the declaration of the presidential jobsβ summit in october 1998. Its mandate is derived from the employment services act with specific relevance to section 32g which is to support initiatives aimed at preventing job losses and furthermore empowered through section 5d of the unemployment insurance act as amended. The bt&r vision is to save jobs and create conditions conducive for job retention and job creation. Bt&r capacitates and enables companies and employees to be more vigilant about issues relating to job retention and to mitigate against poor performance or productivity decline that increases the likelihood of job losses. The programme capacitates employees to be agents of change and to be equipped to identify early-warning signs. The programme is intended to provide turnaround strategies to support different organisations across all sectors; facing economic distress (financial or operational difficulties which may result in an employer contemplating the dismissal of employees based on its operational requirements) with a focus to save and retain existing jobs through amongst others increasing productivity and profitability. 1. Objectives of the bt&r electronic newsletter. 1.1 Provides programme performance to shareholders, stakeholders, current clients. Potential clients, the media and the community. 1.2 Highlight strategic milestones for the year. 1.3 Providing updates for upcoming projects/events. 1.4 Popularise the work done by the bt&r programme as well as marketing the competencies attained by the clients. 2. Scope of work 2.1 Produce 4 (4) quarterly electronic newsletters. 2.2 Sourcing content, planning, developing, writing, editing and proofreading the newsletter. 2.3 Layout, design, and compile the newsletter. 2.4 Source all related photography, videography and illustrations, required for the newsletter. 2.5 Provide copywriting of the content. 2.6 Provide three design βmockupβ of the newsletter to show the proposed approach and format of the newsletter. 2.7 Send the newsletter to productivity SA in a pdf format consisting of 10 - 12 pages. 3. The business turnaround and recovery programme has had tremendous impact over the past three years.
