Submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) electronically via the Eskom E-tendering portal: https://etendering.eskom.co.za. All required documents must be uploaded before the closing date and time. Your submission must include: name of the owner, contact details, property location, site layout plans, gross lettable areas (warehouse, office, yard), building specifications and age, utility capacities (power, water), fire and safety compliance confirmation, title/zoning/approval status, availability date, and commercial terms (optional). Eskom reserves the right to conduct site inspections and request additional information. Do not submit confidential information, as all submissions are non-confidential.

Shortlisting will be based on the details submitted in the EOI. Key criteria include: facility readiness for immediate occupation, A-grade warehouse and office specifications, full compliance with safety and fire standards (mandatory), location within a modern Durban industrial zone with direct access to major routes, and business continuity features (e.g., backup power/water). Eskom may inspect premises for preliminary shortlisting. Selected respondents will be invited to submit detailed offers and terms.

Warehouse: 8,000–12,000 m² covered space (excluding offices), minimum 13m clear internal height, high floor load-bearing capacity for heavy racking, FM2/polished concrete floors for MHE operations. Yard: Fully paved, sufficient for superlink/articulated truck manoeuvring (22m turning radius), external staging/open storage, adequate circulation space. Office/admin: Dedicated, modern, climate-controlled, well-lit, with ablution facilities, staff amenities (canteen, change rooms), and security control room/reception (preferred). Location: Established industrial zone in Durban, direct access to major arterial/national routes, reasonable public transport access. Safety: Fully compliant automatic sprinkler system, fire hose reels/extinguishers, smoke detection/extraction, minimum two emergency exits, full OHSA and local fire authority compliance. Utilities: Racking systems (load-bearing/safety/fire-compliant), sufficient electrical supply, LED high-bay lighting (preferred), sized water/sewer connections. Business continuity: Backup power (generator/alternative energy), backup water (tanks/pressure systems), additional redundancy (solar/UPS) advantageous. Security: Fully fenced, 24/7 security, CCTV, guard house/access control (preferred). Parking: Minimum 40 covered bays, additional uncovered staff/visitor parking, truck parking/queueing.

Commercial terms (purchase price, lease price, or lease-to-own terms) are optional but may be included. No specific bonds, guarantees, or payment terms are stated. Respondents are responsible for all costs incurred in preparing and submitting their EOI.

Mandatory: Full compliance with local fire authority regulations and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Facilities must have all necessary approvals, occupancy certificates, and zoning permissions in place. No additional compliance requirements (e.g., B-BBEE, CIDB, CSD, tax) are explicitly stated.

Mandatory safety standards for the facility: Fully compliant automatic sprinkler system installed throughout warehouse and racking areas. Provision of fire hose reels and portable fire extinguishers.
