Work includes: establishment of contractor on site (fixed/time-related charges, health/safety, environmental management), provision of labour (1,160 hours), rigs/equipment (core drilling rigs, tractor-loader-backhoe, 20-ton excavator, DPSH equipment), setting out/survey (provisional sum: R200,000), access tracks (30 days for equipment), cutting down trees/crops (5 trees 150–300mm, 5 trees >300mm), rotary core drilling (1,237m Category A, 1,732m Category B, 742m Category C, 248m Category D, 1,475m in cobbles/boulders), casing (619m removable, 520m Category B+, 1,475m in boulders/gravel), disturbed sampling (113 samples), undisturbed sampling (50 thin-walled, 59 piston, 60 block), vane shear testing (147 tests), SPT tests (1,980 tests), dynamic probing (2,825m), piezometers (195 standpipes, 3,866m installation), inclinometers (488m casing, 488m installation, 20 protective covers, 4 readings), water sampling (780 rest levels, 3,866m uPVC tubing), core boxes (975), core sheds (3 sheds, 3 racks, 2 name boards), core photography (975 photos), transportation (3,110km for >1.5-ton vehicles), marking holes (175 standpipes/caps, 10 concrete blocks, 10 plastic covers), trenching (43 days excavator), standing time (40 hours), logging/profiling (provisional sum: R1,750,000), laboratory tests (provisional sum: R2,300,000), seismic surveys (provisional sum: R3,000,000). Project duration: ~9 months. Location: KwaZulu-Natal (uMgungundlovu, uMngeni, Msunduzi Municipalities).

Pricing: Submit rates in Rand (ZAR). Pricing Schedule must include all items (e.g., establishment, drilling, sampling, testing). Balanced unit rates required for rate-only items. For alternative offers: include 3% of tendered amount for Employer’s design confirmation costs (deducted as negative prime cost if accepted). Payment via payment certificates. Employer provides full accounting for contingent sums; no further deductions if exceeded. Alternative offers must not compromise Employer’s standards or reduce contract duration/retention guarantees. Market-related price negotiations may occur if highest-scoring tender is non-market related. In case of discrepancy between Excel and PDF pricing schedules, the PDF version governs.

Mandatory: Registration on National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD) at tender closing date (Form A3.4). Valid B-BBEE certificate (SANAS-accredited or CIPC affidavit for EMEs <R3M) issued under Construction Sector Codes (Gazette No. 41287, 1 Dec 2017). Certificate must: be valid at closing date, include enterprise name/address, VAT number, scorecard details, procurement recognition level, issue/expiry dates, and financial period.
