Two-phase evaluation:

Phase 1 – Functionality/Technical (out of 100 points):

• Bidders must score above the set threshold to proceed to Phase 2.
• Technical templates must demonstrate an acceptable technical solution; otherwise the bid is rejected.

Phase 2 – Preference points (PPPFA 80/20 system for orders above R30,000):

Scoring criteria (total 100 points):

• Test reports (25 points): deliver equipment with test report including vibration analysis results.
• OEM authorization (15 points): valid letter of authorization from the Original Equipment Manufacturer to repair the motor.
• Reference letters (10 points): at least 3 reference letters for similar motor rewinding work done within the last 2 years.
• Lead time (25 points): equipment available within 2 weeks of purchase order (25 points), within 4 weeks (15 points), within 8 weeks (0 points).
• Warranty (20 points): demonstrate how the winding and bearing warranty works and its duration (excluding failure due to client negligence).

Note: Bidders who do not submit B-BBEE proof will not claim preference points.
