Stage 2: Technical/Functional Requirements (N/A for this tender). Stage 3: Price (80 points) and Specific Goals (20 points). Price scoring uses the 80/20 Preference Point System: Ps = 80(1 − (Pt−Pmin)/Pmin), where Ps = points for price, Pt = tender price, Pmin = lowest acceptable tender price. Scope: Provide Basic Firefighting Training aligned with SAQA Unit Standard 12484: 'Select and use the appropriate fire fighting equipment to extinguish or control fires in the workplace.' Target audience: PRASA staff at Culemborg Long Distance Train Maintenance (Old Marine Drive, Cape Town). Delivery: Combination of theoretical (classroom) and practical (controlled environment) training. Training provider must supply firefighting equipment for practical sessions at PRASA venue at their own expense. Course duration: 2 days. Key modules: (1) Discuss and explain procedures for dealing with fires in the workplace; (2) Demonstrate understanding of fire procedures; (3) Contain/extinguish fires; (4) Hand over fire/site to appropriate personnel; (5) Complete reports on fire status and equipment; (6) Identify fire type/context and select appropriate procedure; (7) Monitor fire changes and respond; (8) Retreat according to procedures.
