SAA Cargo requires Airfreight movement via road to connect Airports within South Africa.

The constraints applicable to these Operational and Vehicle services are:

National Routes:

• SAA requires Ad-hoc Airfreight movements / capacity on scheduled Road services

between Johannesburg and Coastal Airports within South Africa. Provision should also

be made for Ad-hoc services requiring dedicated loads/ vehicles based on

• Interested Companies need to have a valid license as “Remover of Goods in Bond”

which may be levied on goods that will be transported at any point in time.

• Service providers should have capacity to deliver Airfreight to customers at stations

where SAA do not have representation or be able to transfer freight to SAA, at stations

where they do, for delivery processes to be effected.

• The response time after a request was made to provide a suitable vehicle to transfer

the goods will be of critical importance as it impacts the delivery times offered to

Customers.

• The road transportation needs to be available on any day of the week including

weekend and Public Holidays.

• The load in terms of weight and volume varies as per the goods customers want

transported. This requires flexibility from the service provider to supply a suitable

vehicle for each request.

• Closed, sealable and tamper proof vehicles to ensure theft proof and secured

against movement and protection of goods in all weather conditions.

• Vehicles to operate under a satellite tracking / monitoring system.
• Vehicle and Transport Company must comply with all applicable road safety,

licensing, security and any other related regulations.
