The South African Nuclear Energy Corporation Limited (Necsa) is a state-owned public company. The scope of work is to rewind and replace bearings on one 1/8 Hp motor, 380V, 0.65 Amps, 1460 rpm, Frame 56, 50Hz, as per name plate.

Two-phase evaluation:

Phase 1 — Functionality/Technical (out of 100 points):

• Test reports (25 points): deliver the equipment with the test report, including vibration analysis results.
• Valid OEM Authorized Service Provider (15 points): letter of authorization from the original equipment manufacturer to repair the motor.
• At least 3 reference letters for similar motor rewinding work done in the last 2 years (15 points).
• Supplier lead-time (25 points): equipment available within 2 weeks (25 points), within 4 weeks (15 points), within 8 weeks (0 points) of issue of purchase order.
• Winding and bearing warranty (20 points): provide a warranty on the work performed (excluding failure due to client negligence) and demonstrate how it works and its duration.

Only responses scoring above the set threshold and at least equal to the highest-scoring bid proceed to Phase 2.

Phase 2 — Preferential Procurement (PPPFA):

• Orders above R30,000 are evaluated under the PPPFA 80/20-point system with a functionality scorecard where applicable.
• Orders above R1 million are subjected to the tender process.
• Failure to submit proof of B-BBEE status level means no preference points for specific goals are claimed.

Scope of work:

• The motor must be delivered with a test report including vibration analysis results.
• The supplier must be an OEM authorized service provider with a letter of authorization to repair the motor.
• The supplier must provide a warranty on the rewinding and bearing work performed (excluding failure due to client negligence).

Quotations must be submitted on or before the closing date and time.

Orders above R30,000 are evaluated under the PPPFA 80/20-point system with a functionality scorecard where applicable; orders above R1 million are subjected to the tender process.
