Disqualification Risks:

• Late submissions will not be accepted.
• Submissions from persons in the service of the state (or companies with such directors) will not be considered.
• Failure to provide proof for specific goal claims will result in zero points for those goals.

Scoring System: 80/20 Preference Point System

• Price: 80 points
• Specific Goals: 20 points

Specific Goal Breakdown (20 points total):

• Locality (Within Taung, Jouberton, Klerksdorp, or Potchefstroom): 8 points
• HDI (Historically Disadvantaged Individuals): 5 points
• Youth: 3 points
• Women: 2 points
• RDP Goals (SMME promotion): 2 points

Required Proof for Specific Goals:

• Locality: Municipal account in bidder's name or valid lease agreement.
• HDI/Youth/Women: Certified ID copies and CIPC documents showing shareholding percentages.
• Company Registration: CIPC documents.

Scope of Work:

• Assessment of all existing generators and service requirements for the 2026 academic year.
• Service period: From date of appointment until 31 December 2026.
• Locations: Potchefstroom (Main and Engineering Campus - including assessment for main hall backup power extension), Klerksdorp, Matlosana, Jouberton, and Taung.
• Specific Tasks:
• Assessment of generator state
• Identification of maintenance and service needs
• Determination of service intervals
• Routine monthly/quarterly checks
• Fault finding (call-out fee required)

Technical Standards:

• Service provider must be a registered electrician or electrical engineer.
• All materials used must be new, undamaged, free from rust/defects, and carry a manufacturer's guarantee.

Pricing Requirements:

• Submit a formal quotation on company letterhead.
• Pricing must include all applicable taxes.
• Note: The 80/20 system applies as the value is likely below R50 million.

Mandatory Compliance:

• CSD: Must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (provide summary report < 3 months old).
• CIDB: Must have a minimum grading of EB 1 or higher.
• Tax: Must be tax compliant via CSD.
• Professional: Must be a registered electrician or electrical engineer.
