Minimum CIDB registration: Category 6CE or 6ME or higher. B-BBEE compliance required. Capacity must cover: ~550m 200mm uPVC bulk sewer (manholes, connections), ~505m 600mm reinforced concrete stormwater pipe (manholes, outlets), syphon chambers, and 900m x 1.8m security fence. Proof of registration and relevant experience mandatory. Preference points apply per Part T1.2 (Tender Data).

Scope: Construct 550m 200mm uPVC bulk sewer (manholes, connections), 505m 600mm reinforced concrete stormwater pipe (manholes, outlets), syphon chambers, and 900m x 1.8m security fence. Replace existing sewer manhole covers/frames with lockable versions. Site: Altitude 485m, no electricity, temps 0–45°C, moderate corrosion/lightning, winter rainfall, flooding prevention required. Access: R46 or Onder-Swaarmoed Road. Contractor responsibilities: Design/provide temporary works (costs in tendered rates), spoil site provision, independent lab testing (all results to Employer’s Agent), as-built drawings, and site maintenance. Design split: Employer (permanent works), Contractor (temporary works, as-builts). Drawings: Reduced copies for tender only; 3 free scaled sets issued post-award. Standards: SANS 1200 + project-specific specs. Restrictions: No extra payment for access difficulties, spillage cleanup, or temporary roads (except SANS 1200 A item 8.3.2.2).

Pricing: Include all costs in tendered rates (water, electricity, permits, wayleaves, site maintenance, testing, temporary works, spoil disposal). Provisional sums: Upgrades/repairs to screening facility (mechanical, electrical, civil, fencing). Subcontractor costs: For provisional sums <R200,000, 3 quotes required (Employer’s Agent approval); >R200,000 requires open tender (unless exempt). Spot fines: R750 per service per occasion for unmetered water/electricity (deducted from payments). Testing costs: Independent lab testing included in rates; additional tests ordered by Employer’s Agent reimbursed from provisional sums unless non-compliance found. Payment: Certificates require completed reports; no separate payments for water/electricity.

CIDB: Category 6CE or 6ME or higher. B-BBEE: Subcontractors must have equal/higher B-BBEE level than main contractor for >25% of contract value (unless exempted micro-enterprises with proven capability). Local subcontractors encouraged. Subcontractor selection: For provisional sums/prime cost items <R200,000, obtain 3 quotes (Employer’s Agent approval). For >R200,000, open tender process (Employer’s Agent may issue tender on Contractor’s behalf). All subcontractor work remains Contractor’s responsibility. Permits/wayleaves: Contractor must obtain/renew all necessary permits (e.g., electricity wayleaves every 3 months).
