Sealed bids marked with the bid name and number must be deposited in the bid box at the Abaqulusi Local Municipality offices, corner of High Street and Mark Street, Vryheid, by 12:00 on 31 August 2026. Scope of work: supply and deliver various sizes of fiberglass lids/doors for mini-substations within AbaQulusi Municipality's electricity distribution area (Mondlo, Vryheid, Bhekuzulu, Lakeside, Sasko, Vryheid East, Sikhame, Makhwatheni, Hlobane, Clifdale, Vaalbank, Coronation). Measure and design each lid/door to fit the mini-substation or distribution box frame. Install lids/doors with a locking mechanism that uses padlocks. Replace or repair and reconstruct damaged mini-substation covers. Deliverables: Material and Safety Datasheet for the material used, and specification of the doors/lids. Quantities: Eskom 3-phase meter boxes (20 lids), Protea boxes (90 lids), Service boxes (15 lids), Fuse boxes (20 lids), Termination boxes (10 lids), Cast iron boxes (10 lids or replacement of whole boxes with modern powder-coated boxes), Mini-substation doors (30 doors). Additionally: conduct assessment and produce a report for damaged mini-sub covers; repair/replace 200 units. Supply 14 standby lids/doors (2 per type and size) for future replacement. All prices must include delivery, loading, transport, and off-loading costs.

Bidders must present a well-structured methodology covering project management, funding, monitoring, and a clear project plan with activities and timeframes. Deliverables and expected quality must be outlined. The project plan duration should not exceed 12 months. The plan should be presented on Microsoft Project.

Company Experience: points awarded based on number of projects for supply of fiberglass/PVC/metal lids/doors (0 projects: 0 points; 1-3: 5; 3.1-5: 10; 5.1-9: 15; >9.1: 30). Key Personnel: Project Manager (BTech/BSc with experience and professional registration, max 20 points) and one Electrician (National Diploma/BSc or N6 with trade test, max 20 points). CVs and certified qualifications must be attached.

Bill of Quantities: Item 1.1 Eskom 3 phase meters boxes (20); 1.2 Protea boxes (90); 1.3 Service boxes (15); 1.4 Fuse boxes (20); 1.5 Termination boxes (10); 1.6 Cast iron boxes (10); 1.7 Mini-substations (30); Item 2: Assess and repair/replace mini-substation covers (200); Item 3: Supply self standby lids/doors x 2 for each type and size (14).
