Scope: Supply and deliver PLC industrial network switches and accessories for the Northern Wastewater Treatment Works in Diepsloot.

Minimum Requirements for Area Switches:

• Only industrial-type switches accepted (no commercial/office switches).
• Must have at least IP20 rating, rugged high-strength metal case, DIN-rail or panel mounting.
• Operating temperature: 0 to 55°C without cooling fans. Must operate in up to 95% relative humidity without condensation.
• Must comply with IEEE 802.1w for Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (redundancy).
• Must support SNMP V1/V2/V3 for remote management.
• Must have at least two SFP uplink ports compatible with 1000Base-LX Gigabit Ethernet and Duplex LC-type connectors for single-mode fibre.
• Must have the number of copper ports as per project scope/BOQ. Ports must be 10/100BASE-TX compatible and accept RJ45 connectors on CAT-6 cable.
• Must support: loading/saving configurations to a remote host, port monitoring, line-swap fast recovery (within milliseconds), and configuration via OS-independent web browser using secure HTTPS.

Minimum Requirements for Core Switches:

• Only industrial-type switches accepted (no commercial/office switches).
• Must have redundant dual DC power units, at least IP30 rating, rugged high-strength metal case, and be 19" rack-mounted.
• Operating temperature: 0 to 55°C without cooling fans. Must operate in up to 95% relative humidity without condensation.
• Must comply with IEEE 802.1w for Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol and IEEE 802.3ad (802.1AX) for link aggregation (at least 4 trunks).
• Must comply with IEEE 802.1Q for VLAN Registration Protocol (GVRP).
• Must comply with IEEE 802.1p/1Q for TOS/DiffServ (Quality of Service).
• Must have IGMP Snooping and GMRP for filtering multicast traffic.
• Must comply with IEEE 802.1X for SSL security.
• Must support SNMP V1/V2/V3.
• Must be managed Layer 3 switches with number of ports as per project scope/BOQ.
• Must support a minimum of four trunked Gigabit SFP ports with 1000Base-LC, LC connectors.
• Must support a minimum of eight SFP ports for a combination of Fast Ethernet (10/100Base-TX) and Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T, 1000Base-LX).
• Must support: loading/saving configurations to a remote host, port monitoring, line-swap fast recovery, configuration via OS-independent web browser using HTTPS, configuration via CLI (local serial console and remote SSH), and ping commands.

Compliance with Standards:

• Complete installation must comply with IEEE 802.3-2005.
• Equipment must comply with SANS 61000-4/IEC 61000-4 for EMC.
• Equipment must comply with IEC 60068-2-6 for vibration.
• Equipment must comply with IEC 60068-2-27 for shock.
• All installations must comply with SANS 10142 requirements.

• Include all delivery costs in the bid price.
• The bidder must declare if they owe municipal rates/taxes in arrears for more than three months or have had a contract terminated by an organ of state in the past five years due to failure to perform.
