Surface finish: Double-side polished or mechanically polished. Thickness: Supplier standard (typically 0.5–1.0 mm). Condition: Flat, clean, free from scratches, oxidation, and contaminants. Application: Thin-film deposition target / ion beam analysis reference material.

2. Brass Disc: Material: Brass alloy (Zn0.4Cu0.6, 40% Zn, 60% Cu). Diameter: 0.25 inch (6.35 mm). Shape: Circular disc. Purity: ≥99.9% (recommended). Surface finish: Double-side polished or mechanically polished. Thickness: Supplier standard (typically 0.5–1.0 mm). Condition: Flat, free from oxidation, scratches, and surface contamination. Application: Thin-film deposition target / ion beam experiments.

3. Carbon-Graphite Substrates: Material: High-purity carbon-graphite. Quantity: 20 substrates. Dimensions: 12 mm × 12 mm. Thickness: 0.5–1.0 mm. Purity: ≥99.9% carbon (recommended). Surface finish: Smooth, flat, polished on at least one side. Surface roughness: Low (suitable for thin-film deposition). Electrical conductivity: Conductive graphite. Thermal stability: Suitable for vacuum deposition processes. Cleanliness: Free from dust, oils, and surface contaminants. Application: Substrates for thin-film deposition and ion beam analysis.

For shorter payment terms (e.g., 7/14 days from delivery), a Payment Guarantee approved by iThemba Labs Finance may be required. Advance payments require a Payment Guarantee. Currency: ZAR. Mandatory: Registration on the National Treasury’s Central Supplier Database (CSD) (www.csd.gov.za). Bids from unregistered bidders will not be considered. Tax compliance: CSD and tax-compliant status PIN are the approved verification methods. Submit B-BBEE certificate (SANAS-accredited) or sworn affidavit if claiming preference points. Payment terms: 30 days from invoice receipt date. Shorter terms (7/14 days) require mutual agreement and may need a Payment Guarantee. Advance payments require a Payment Guarantee approved by iThemba Labs Finance. A firm delivery period must be specified. Late submissions are disqualified. Changes to RFQ terms after closing date/time are not permitted. Subject to the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA) and 2022 Regulations, General Conditions of Contract (GCC), and any special conditions.

Bidder must declare: Employment by the state (directors/trustees/shareholders/partners/controlling interests). Relationships with procuring institution employees. Interests in related enterprises bidding for this contract. Certify independence of bid (no collusion with competitors). No prior consultations with procuring officials except for clarifications. Non-disclosure of bid terms to competitors. Suspicious bids may be reported to the Competition Commission or NPA. False declarations may result in disqualification, contract cancellation, or 10-year public sector restriction.
