Background: The machine is used for metallographic sample preparation in Necsa's Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) facility. The existing Struers TegraForce-5 unit is obsolete (over 17 years old, no service or spare parts available). The replacement must be compatible with existing Struers consumables (diamond suspensions, 25 mm specimen mounting cups, 250 mm polishing) and the Struers Metalog sample preparation guides.
