Scope: Renovations to Microbiology Lab at Tygerberg Hospital. Work includes: repairs to cracks (0.2mm–2mm and >2mm), mortar joints, painted wall surfaces, and preparation of surfaces (plaster, concrete, timber, masonry, steel). Coating requirements: painting, staining, varnishing, and protection of surfaces. Electrical: SABS-approved materials, registered electricians, 2.5mm² PVC wires, dedicated plugs (red), normal plugs (white), circuit breakers, and Electrical Certificate of Compliance. Plumbing: Registered plumbers, A-grade glazed tiles, stainless steel sinks (grade 316/304), chrome-plated fittings, geysers (Franky/Kwikhot), toilets, urinals, emergency showers. Air-conditioning: Inverter-type units (Samsung, LG, Carrier, Daikin, York), SABS-approved, 12-month warranty, separate wiring via isolator. Workbenches: 32mm Formica postform tops, steel frames (epoxy powder-coated dove grey), lockable castors. Cupboards: Steel (white epoxy) or timber (melamine, oak finish). Doors: 2mm clearance, brass/aluminium hinges, safety glass. Shadeports: Green, UV-resistant nets, galvanized cables, 20MPa concrete foundations.
