Submit bids in a sealed envelope to the PRASA Regional Office, 65 Masabalala Yengwa Avenue, Durban Station, Durban. Bids must be recorded in the submission register at the Helpdesk before being deposited into Bid Box No. 5. Late bids will not be accepted. Bids must be submitted on the official forms provided (do not re-type).

The evaluation follows a three-stage process: Stage 1 (Mandatory compliance check), Stage 2 (Price and B-BBEE, 80/20 preference point system), and Stage 3 (Verification of non-mandatory documents). Mandatory requirements include: Price schedule, completed RFQ documentation (including SBD 6.2 and Annex C), proof of previous repairs (PO or contract), signed letterhead confirming a 6-month warranty and 10-day non-conformance closure, and a completed Bill of Quantities (BOQ).

The scope involves the repair and servicing of 13.5 kg fire extinguishers for Metrorail KZN over a 24-month period on an 'as and when required' basis. Specific tasks include pressure testing, assembly/recharging, and renewal of seals, valve assemblies, pressure gauges, and nozzles.

Prices must be quoted in South African Rand on a fixed-price basis, inclusive of VAT. Payment is made within 30 days of receipt of a correct tax invoice.

Mandatory compliance includes: CSD registration (or proof of application), valid Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN, B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit, SBD 6.2 (Local Content Declaration), and proof of UIF registration. All bidders must comply with the Local Content requirements for designated sectors.
