Scope: Replacement of cupboards and carpentry work at Tsitsikamma Section of Garden Route National Park for 24 months. Contractor must verify all site measurements before fabrication; manufacture, supply, deliver and install kitchen cupboards; supply and install countertops (granite or Formica option); install all hardware and accessories; ensure proper levelling, alignment and secure fixing; seal all joints and exposed edges; remove rubble and leave site clean. Cupboard and countertop colours confirmed with successful bidder prior to manufacture. Technical specifications: Carcass – 18mm white melamine board, moisture-resistant (MR/RH) core, high gloss finish; moisture-resistant board for sink units; all exposed edges sealed; joints glued and mechanically fixed; units rigid, square, structurally sound. Doors and drawer fronts – 18mm melamine, moisture-resistant core, high gloss finish, smooth finish free of defects, 2mm impact-resistant PVC edging on all exposed edges. Durable edging (mandatory) – 2mm PVC edging on all exposed edges, machine applied (iron-on not permitted), heat sealed and moisture resistant. Hardware – soft-close concealed hinges, heavy-duty drawer runners (minimum 35kg load rating), adjustable legs, stainless steel handles, corrosion-resistant screws and fixings. Countertops – Granite option: 20mm or 30mm polished granite, all edges polished, sink and hob cut-outs included, sealed against moisture; Formica option: 32mm postform laminated countertop, high-pressure laminate finish, moisture-resistant backing board, 2mm PVC sealed edges. Installation – units level, plumb, securely fixed; wall and sink joints sealed with silicone; no visible gaps; exposed screws capped; surfaces protected during installation. Warranty – minimum 12-month workmanship warranty; all materials new and free from defects. Carpentry work includes supply and installation of headboards (queen, double, three-quarter, single), bedside pedestals, and TV stands with wall mounting.

Bidders must demonstrate company years of experience specifically in installation of cupboards and carpentry work, supported by reference letters on company letterhead indicating contract period, value, and description. A minimum of three written references from similar cupboard installation work is required. The carpenter must hold an NQF Level 4 qualification or recognised trade certificate.

SANParks is mandated to conserve and manage national parks and protected areas, and to contribute to climate resilience through ecosystem-based mitigation and adaptation. The contractor must work within the national park environment, ensuring minimal environmental impact and compliance with park regulations.

The successful bidder will be required to sign a written contract form (SBD 7.2 – Contract Form for Rendering of Services). The contract will be subject to the General Conditions of Contract (GCC) and any special conditions. Payment will be made within 30 days of receipt of invoice in accordance with PFMA. The bidder must confirm that prices cover all obligations and that any mistakes in pricing are at their own risk. The contract may be cancelled and damages claimed if preference points are claimed fraudulently.
