Service maintenance and repairs of diesel generators and electrical works at Rooiwal and Soshanguve Agriparks. Work includes generator servicing, electrical rewiring, installation of new electrical components, excavation for cable trenches, plastering, structural steel work, and painting.

Returnable documents: the completed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) with all rates and amounts filled in, plus any forms specified in the quotation document (Annexure B). The BOQ must be priced in full and submitted before the closing time. Bidders must visit the site before tendering; no claim for variations due to site conditions will be considered. Rooiwal Agripark:

• Left-hand diesel generator: 25 kVA 3-phase – service and repair, supply and install 12V battery, supply and pour 100 litres diesel, supply and install 3–4mm panel window on generator door.
• Right-hand diesel generator: 16 kVA 3-phase – service and repair, supply and install 12V battery, supply and pour 100 litres diesel, supply and install 3–4mm panel window.
• Electrical: supply and install LED 100W IP65 spotlights, 4x4 double plugs, 4FT double LED fittings, 25mm PVC conduit, 2.5mm² twin+earth cable, 20A 3kA circuit breakers, 16mm x 4-core armoured cable, 1015x880x205mm IP55 mild steel enclosure (double door), surge arrestors on office and container DBs.
• Rewiring of left-hand generator: commissioning and test with written report, rewiring electrical connections, inspect/repair/test and issue Certificate of Compliance (COC) for DBs (security container outside, next to generators inside, main office inside).
• Earth connections: connect and install 16mm² bare earth cable with 12m spike rod to generators; replace automatic transfer switch and contactors if burnt.
• Excavation: trenches 300mm(W) x 700mm(D) – right generator 8m, left generator 3m, for 16mm x 4-core 1000V cables; backfill and compact.
• Alterations: hack off wall 40mm x 50mm for PVC 25mm conduit allowance (office).
• Plastering: 12mm plaster on brick wall above ground (1m²).
• Structural steel: supply and install 100x25 Kontos bullet hinges and ultra locks for generator cages (left and right).
• Painting: supply, prepare and paint generator palisade cages – first coat green anti-rust NS4 steel primer, two coats brilliant green polyurethane; generator – first coat white anti-rust primer, two coats satin white polyurethane.

Soshanguve Agripark:

• Diesel generator: 16 kVA 3-phase – service and repair, supply and install 12V battery, supply and pour 100 litres diesel, supply and install 3–4mm panel window.
• Electrical: supply and install 4FT double LED fittings, 4x4 double plugs, 25mm PVC conduit, 2.5mm² twin+earth cable, 20A 3kA circuit breakers, 4x2 switches, LED 100W IP65 spotlights, day-night switches, 10A contactors, 60A stove isolator, 1.5mm surfix cable, 10mm x 3-core armour cable, white flush mount DB, 16mm x 4-core armoured cable, orange double door 3x32 SAM 3-phase DBs, CBI 63A 1P+N earth leakage isolators, surge arrestors on office, main, second, third, fourth, kitchen DBs.
• Inspect, repair, test and issue COC for DBs: main kiosk (outside), next to container (outside), main office (inside), staff house (inside), secondary (outside), third (outside), fourth (outside), ablution (inside).
• Excavation: trenches 300mm(W) x 700mm(D) – generator to kiosk 5m, kiosk to main DB 25m, main DB to secondary DB 150m, secondary to third DB 170m, secondary to fourth DB 170m, staff house to ablution 20m (for 10mm x 3-core armour cable); backfill and compact.

Work includes inspecting, repairing, testing and issuing Certificate of Compliance for diesel generators and electrical connections, rewiring of diesel generator's electrical connection, supply and install surge arrestors on distribution boards, and preparatory work to existing work such as painting with anti-rust coatings. Site visits are required before tendering, and all work must be carried out with minimal mess and noise, with temporary protection as directed.

All work must be carried out to the satisfaction of the principal agent. Removed waste material must be dumped at a designated site. Items to be re-used must be overhauled before reinstallation. Painting must comply with specified standards. Electrical work must be tested and certified with a Certificate of Compliance (COC).

Pricing is per the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) with sections for preliminaries, alterations, excavation, mechanical, electrical, plastering, structural steel, and painting. • Structural steel cage: repair and replace damaged cage, supply and weld 100 x 25 Kontos Bullet Hinges for three diesel generators, supply and install ultra lock for cage doors.
• Painting: protect generator components, prepare surface (sand, remove rust, degrease), apply rust converter, primer (epoxy zinc phosphate or anti-corrosive primer; brilliant green NS4 primer for cage, white NS4 primer for generator), and finish coat (brilliant green polyurethane for cage, satin white polyurethane for generator).

• Check delivered material against specification, sign off, record, and inform GDARD 5 working days prior to use.
• Complete preparatory work, works, and site rehabilitation.
• Obtain practical completion and final completion certificates.
• The Employer's Agent updates the condition assessment database at practical completion.
• A Quality Management Plan is required before commencing works.

The Bill of Quantities (Annexure C) forms part of the contract and must be priced. Descriptions are based on the Standard System of Measuring Building Work, Seventh Edition. Quantities are approximate; final certified quantities determine payment. Prices must be full inclusive, covering all costs, overheads, profits, and risks, excluding VAT.
