TRIM has received a proposal for the lease of the Aloes Station and Departmental Siding in Gqeberha. The proposal is from a consortium of three logistics services companies currently leasing and operating sidings with rail linking to the yard. The lease term is 7 years. The proposal aims to enhance operational capacity and efficiency of the Aloes Yard, including investment in upgrades/redesign and shunting operations. The Aloes departmental siding is a key enabler to redesign the precinct to accommodate full trains, reducing shunting costs and enhancing operational efficiency. These upgrades feed directly into the Back of Port Operational (BOP) facilities.
