Scope: Supply, delivery and installation of steel playpark equipment to Bergrivier Municipality from date of appointment until 30 June 2027.

Equipment to be quoted on (unit prices):

Standards and materials:

• All equipment must conform to SANS 51176 (playground equipment and surfacing safety).
• Pipework: Class B galvanized pipe, complying with BS 1387/1985.
• Steelwork: hot dipped galvanized per BS 729/1971 and SABS 763/1988.
• Pre-treatment with Calcium Plumbate weldable primer (NS4) per SABS 064/1979.
• At least two final high gloss enamel coats; colours limited to Blue, Orange, Red, Green and Yellow.
• Timber: well seasoned flat Meranti, treated with raw Linseed oil or equivalent.
• Fasteners and anchor bolts: galvanized; anchor bolts 250mm long, 16mm diameter; torqued to at least 65Nm.

Base and surfacing:

• Tarmac base: 100mm coarse gravel layer, edged with 73mm red clay face-brick pavers or E1 kerbing.
• Asphalt surface tolerance: +0mm to -5mm, no deviation greater than 5mm under a 3m straight edge.
• Excavated soil to be removed by the bidder unless permission is given to leave it.

Installation and completion:

• Work to commence within 14 days of receiving an official order and be completed within 30 days.
• A completion certificate (COC) must be issued by a suitably qualified engineer registered with a recognised professional body; no payment without COC.
• 48 hours' notice to the Head of Community Facilities before commencing work on any site.
• Municipality may inspect work at any stage of fabrication or erection.
• Site must be left neat and tidy before a completion certificate is issued.

Warranty: 12 months on all goods, commencing once the COC is issued.
