PetroSA requires a vessel for a period of a 3-year period meeting, as a minimum, the
attached specifications (refer to; Tender attachment 07. Diving Vessel Specification

PetroSA owns and operates 5 gas and condensate fields off the coast of Mossel
Bay. These fields are inspected, maintained and repaired using diving interventions.
The dive vessel is the only platform from which these dive interventions are
launched, hence the requirement for this tender. PetroSA, therefore, requests
tenderers to provide proposals on the following options:
Option 1: A Platform Supply DP2 Vessel for a period of 3 years.
Option 2: A Platform Supply DP2 Vessel for a period of 3 years as a Dive
Support Vessel (DSV) with a fully integrated dive systems ROV
(Work class), Mixed Gas Air Dive System & minimum 9-man
Saturation Dive System with the capacity to dive up to 200m for
saturation system and ROVs.

In the event that PetroSA chooses Option 1, PetroSA shall install portable dive
systems on board the vessel’s open deck. This will include fabricating and installing
an interface dive support frame. Utility services required for the portable dive support
systems shall be sourced from the vessel. All these will be done in accordance with
the requirement of the vessel classing authority.
In the event of PetroSA choosing option 2, the supplier of the DSV will be required to
supply the key dive systems and operational personnel with divers being locally
sourced within south Africa.
In terms of the scope of work of this tender, the vessel chosen will be used for the
following services:
a. General cargo runs between shore and PetroSA offshore installation
b. Diving intervention support be in Air, Saturation and Remote Operated
c. Perform standby duties for all PetroSA’s offshore installations
d. Support EM Buoy maintenance intervention

PetroSA endorses Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) and
reserves the right to give preference to BBBEE Suppliers, or Suppliers that form
partnerships and/or joint ventures with BBBEE Suppliers.
PetroSA reserves the right to require joint ventures between such Suppliers and
BBBEE Suppliers that tendered for or expressed interest in the provision of the
above supply. Suppliers are required to submit a BBBEE improvement plan
with their tenders, as per the attached BBBEE Proposal guideline.
Suppliers are required to give preference to suitable labour from the area in
which the supply is required and to liaise closely with local labour forums in this
regard. Preference should also be given to local black subcontractors.
