Evaluation of this bid

All proposals will be evaluated in various stages

Stage 1 – Administrative and mandatory compliance

Stage 2 – Functionality

Stage 3 – Price and specific goals using the applicable preference point system

The 20 preference points will be allocated to the following as included in the bid document

• 10 points will be allocated to enterprises (or bidders) who are at least 51% or more Owned
• 10 points will be allocated to enterprises who are located in KZN

upgrade, rehabilitation, additions, and alterations to the existing Solid Waste

Management Facilities located at AgriZone 1, Cargo Terminal, and TradeHouse within the Dube

TradePort Precinct.

The work

• Structural and Compliance Upgrades: Enhancing waste containment measures, including

the installation of impermeable, chemical-resistant flooring and bund walls for hazardous

waste segregation.

• Improved Drainage and Waste Flow Management: Upgrading drainage systems to

mitigate contamination risks and enhance operational efficiency.

• Facility Enhancements: Replacing deteriorated roofing structures, installing proper

signage, and implementing rodent-proof fencing to improve safety and security.

• Sanitary and Ablution Facilities: Constructing new male and female ablution blocks with

showers at all three waste facilities to meet hygiene and occupational health standards.

• Stormwater Management: Installing new rainwater downpipes at the TradeHouse facility

to enhance drainage and prevent water-related damage.

It is estimated that tenderers must have an active CIDB grading of 3GB or higher by the closing

date of the bid. No Potential Emerging (PE) status is allowed.
