The procurement is for the sale of one (1) A340-300 and two (2) A340-600 SAA aircraft in an "AS-IS", "WHERE-IS" condition.

Bids must be submitted via email to the address provided in the tender document. Bids must be delivered by the stipulated time; late bids will not be accepted. Bids must be submitted on the official forms provided and not re-typed. The successful bidder will be required to sign a written contract form (SBD 7).

Returnable forms and documents:

• SBD 1 (Invitation to Bid): completed and signed as the offer cover page, including bidder and contact details.
• SBD 4 (Declaration of Interest): discloses any connection between the bidder and state employees.
• SBD 9 (Certificate of Independent Bid Determination): certifies the bid price was set independently.
• Proof of authority to sign (e.g., company resolution).
• SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN or CSD number.
• B-BBEE status level verification certificate or sworn affidavit (for EMEs and QSEs) to claim preference points.
• Foreign suppliers must complete the questionnaire on South African residency and tax status.

Failure to provide or comply with any of the above may render the bid invalid.

The bid is subject to the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act, 2000 and the Preferential Procurement Regulations, 2017. Bidders must be tax compliant and provide a SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN or CSD number. Bidders must not be persons in the service of the state, nor companies or close corporations with directors/members who are persons in the service of the state. Bidders must submit a B-BBEE status level verification certificate or sworn affidavit (for EMEs & QSEs) to qualify for preference points. Foreign suppliers must complete the questionnaire on their South African residency and tax status.

Bidders must not be listed on the Register for Tender Defaulters or the List of Restricted Suppliers. Bidders must disclose all CSD-registered active companies linked to all directors; failure to do so leads to disqualification. Bidders must complete and submit SBD 4 (Bidder's Disclosure) with accurate and complete information.

SAA is selling one (1) A340-300 and two (2) A340-600 aircraft in "AS-IS, WHERE-IS" condition. The aircraft have been cannibalized and most major components removed. Sale may be in part or in full.

• Price: 100 points (per the pricing matrix).
• All reasonable bids will be considered, including partial or combined offers, based on best fit for airline disposal.
• SAA may request additional information in writing; replies must be submitted within 5 working days, or the bid may be disqualified.
• SAA may request documentary proof of any information; failure to comply leads to disqualification.
• SAA reserves the right to negotiate with bidders before award, to cancel the bid, not to accept any bid, or to accept one or more bids for further negotiation.
• SAA may invite bidders for presentations before award.

Bidders must be able to conclude and deliver on the agreement to SAA's satisfaction.

• Bidders must consent to processing of personal information as per POPI (Part 7).
• Vendor information form requires company registration documents (relevant to country), bank confirmation letter or cancelled cheque, and for international bidders, applicable tax details.
• For local bidders, a valid tax clearance certificate and CSD report are required as part of vendor information.
