SAWS may request presentations from shortlisted bidders and conduct site visits to verify capacity.

Scope: Repair and fitting of the existing office gate at George Weather Office. The gate cannot open or close due to a rusted bottom bar, posing a security threat. Work includes: supply and replace bottom rectangular tubing 38x76x4m (must be galvanized), install new wheels, supply and paint gate grey (paint must be NS4 anti-rust primer grey), and set gate tracks. Gate dimensions: 4.3m length, 1.93 height. Only the bottom bar is to be replaced, not the whole gate. Work to be done at the office.

Pricing Schedule (SBD 3.3): Bidders must indicate a ceiling price inclusive of VAT for the project, provide a cost breakdown, state the period required for commencement after acceptance, and confirm if rates are firm for the full period. All prices in South African rand, inclusive of VAT.

Bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and provide the CSD number. Tax matters must be in order; provide a SARS TCS PIN or CSD number. Bidders must be in good standing with the Department of Labour (COIDA) and provide a valid Letter of Good Standing. Bidders must have completed welding work with previous clients and provide a contactable reference letter. A project plan with timeline for commencement and completion must be submitted. B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit required for points claimed. Persons in the service of the state are not eligible.

The contract will be subject to the General Conditions of Contract (GCC) and Special Conditions of Contract (SCC). Where conflict, SCC prevail.
