Johannesburg water requires the supply and delivery of laboratory chemicals and consumables to its cydna laboratory, covering eleven line items: propane gas solvent, nist-traceable oil and grease CRM, four staining dyes (basic fuchsin, dapi, methylene blue, acridine orange), a tetramethyl-phenylenediamine dihydrochloride reagent, discrete analyser cuvettes and 4 ml sample cups, and low and medium/high range chemical oxygen demand reagent vials. Quotations close on 19 october 2026 at 12:00 and must be submitted as a pdf on company letterhead through the e-tender portal using the bidder's csd credentials, with a 60-day validity period. The single most consequential requirement is that a manufacturer datasheet and manufacturer name must accompany every item — failure to provide datasheets disqualifies the bid — while the 20 preference points are reserved for an smme that is an eme or qse at least 51% black owned.
Closing: 19 October 2026 at 12:00; quotations received after the closing date and time are not accepted. Quotation validity is 60 days.
Submission format: PDF on the bidder's company letterhead, uploaded to the e-tender portal (etenders.gov.za) using CSD login credentials. MS Word, MS Excel and picture files are not allowed.
Datasheets: a manufacturer datasheet and the manufacturer name must be supplied for every item; failure to provide datasheets results in disqualification. Sample units may be requested before the order proceeds.
Brand names: brand names must be stated where required; quotations without brand names will not be accepted.
Preference points (80/20): 80 points for price and 20 points for specific goals, awarded to an SMME that is an EME or QSE 51% or more black owned by Black People. Claim with a valid B-BBEE certificate from a SANAS-accredited agency, a DTI/CIPC EME or QSE certificate, or an affidavit sworn under oath — a non-compliant affidavit scores zero.
Compulsory returnables: original valid tax clearance certificate or valid SARS PIN; proof of CSD registration / MAAA supplier number; company registration documents with ID copies of directors and shareholders; municipal rates and taxes statement not older than 90 days and not in arrears beyond 90 days; valid lease agreement or municipal account statement not older than 3 months; and signed MBD 4, MBD 8, MBD 9 and MBD 6.1. A signed Joint Venture Agreement is required where applicable.
Exclusions: no quotation is considered from persons in the service of the state, or from bidders blacklisted by National Treasury or any national authority for non-performance. All applicable taxes must be included in the total quoted value.
